My g g grandmother was Susan Dickie, who was illegitimate and lived in Ruthwell Dumfries (1951 census, and death cert) with her mother Ann Ross Grierson, until her marriage to Thomas Macdougall in 1825.
Susan was born about 1827 according to census and marriage and death certificates, but I cannot find any record of her birth or baptism anywhere in Scotland. I wonder if anyone could suggest where I could look.
