The line down to George S. DICKEY can be summarized: Robert Dickey ca 1463--1536, Glasgow, Scotland. Skinner. John Dickey 1501-1567, of Glasgow. Leather footwear. John Dickey ca 1542-1606. In Oct 1641 he leased his father's farm but it was destroyed in the rebellion that began that same month. To Belfast by 1656. Thomas Dickey ca 1650s-1728, moved from Belfast to Muckamore, County Antrim, and bought 47 acre farm. Married 2nd in 1680 Jane Awl whose LW&T of 3 Aug 1742 refers to sons William and George "acrost the seas" (Chester and Lancaster Co, PA). Besides these were Thomas (1681-1763), Adam, and Sarah. Thomas (1681-1763) m: ca 1722 Mary Wilson (b 8 Feb 1698), d/o Robert and Agnes Wilson. Unlike brothers George and William, he remained in Ireland. Children: John (ca 1723-1792); George (1728-1802); and James (ca 1733-1769). George (1728-1802) m: 11 June 1765 Sarah Thompson (d 1811). Children of Thomas and Rebecca were Thomas, George S (1798-1869), Caroline; Mary Catherine; Hiram King (1814, MD-1884, OH). George S (1798-1869), of Baltimore, m1: Henrietta Smith; m2: Caroline Dickey; m3: Ann Eliza (1817-1880). Children: George S. (1830-1877) ; Charles E. Children: Katherine m: _____ Nicolls; Philip; Charles Herman ( b 1860); George; Henrietta; Edmund. It is something of a puzzle who researched this line, for the manuscript from around the beginning of the 20th Century is anonymous. It has been filmed by the LDS. I do not have a copy, and got this from Raymond Martin Bell. Much research was done by someone in Ireland before the wills were destroyed in 1922. It has been suggested that Charles H. Dickey was responsible.
