I am still looking for comfirmation on who the parents were to my great great grandfather, Harland McClellan Dickey. I know from census record that it states his mother was born in Virgina and father in Ohio.
The earliest record I can find of Harland is when he is 10 and living with the Clark Yount family. Mary Smith was married to Clark Yount. I am wondering if Mary Smith was related to Amanda R. Smith?
I did find James W. Dickey who was born in Ohio who married Amamda R. Smith. I am wondering how many children they had before he died from an injury/illness in the civil war? Did they live in IL at any time?
Later Amanda married Thomas Deweese and had more children but I find some went by both Dickey and Deweese on various records. I would like to know more about this family, if you have anything to share please let me know.
