Thank you Sarah I did make the correction. My brick wall is my ggrandfather's parents. The last source of information I have on him is the 1880 census in Jobe Township, Oregan County, MO. On that census he was born 1840 in AL. His father was born in VA and his mother in TN. I know that is the correct John Dickey because my ggrandmother Josephine C. Gaines Dickey is there along with my grandfather, 4 year old William Robert Dickey. In your Dickey research have you ran across anything about my John Dickey or his sons, William Robert b.1875 MO, Joseph A. b. 1879 MO, James L. b. 1881, Charles W. b. 1887, Jefferson L. b.1891, Samuel Burl b. 1895. I don't know for sure where the younger boys were born. They were orphans by 1900 and living in two different household in Lawerence Co. AR. Joseph was living with my newly wed grandparents, William Robert and Martha Ellen Roy Dickey in Boone Co. AR.
