I am a descendant of a John Dickey that lived in early Randolph Co. NC. An old family letter said he was a Presbyterian from N of Ireland. He was married to Mary (?) Dickey Cowan. John died in 1771 and Mary remarried. She died in 1804-05 in Rowan Co. Their son William Dickey was m'd @ 1785 to Martha Thornberry. Their son John was born 26 June 1788 in Randolph Co. The family moved to Indiana @ 1812. I have several names of the children for this line of Dickeys and I will be glad to share any info I have if this is the line you are looking for. There were so many John and William Dickeys that moved to NC in that time period. Good Luck!
