Catherine Dickey 1738-1804 was daughter of Moses Dickey (d 1766) and his first wife Margaret (d 7 Jan 1759). Moses Dickey was a well-known miller and millwright who moved from Sadsbury Twp, Chester Co, PA about 1749 to Paxtang Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. (In modern terms his land would have been in Dauphin Co, PA, east of Harrisburg and the Borough of Paxton, and in Swatara Twp. His mill was on Spring Creek).

I have no datamation on a marriage to a Ferree.

Children of John and Catherine (Dickey) Fo(r)ster:

Thomas 1762-1836 (to Erie, PA)

Dorcas (William Bell Jr) 1724-1826 (to Erie, PA)

Mary (Cornelius Cox) 1767-1810

Agnes (George Nelson) ca 1770-?

Elizabeth (William R Hanna) ca 1773-?

John 1777-1863 m1: Mary Elder m2: Margaret Snodgrass (Stewart) Law

Margaret (John McFarland, Thomas Stewart) 1780-1835

Sources: Raymond Martin Bell's The Forster Family of Paxton (now Dauphin Co) and Buffalo Valley (now Union Co) Pennsylvania plus a partial list of Paxton Residents earlier than 1752 (Washington, PA, 1993), page 11; and Moses Dickey Paxton, Pennsylvania with notes of Foster and Shaw (Coralville, Iowa, 1996). These are both typed manuscripts.
