Hi,
According to a crude map in a book, Bucksville was located in the extreme eastern point of Tuscaloosa and lies less than a quarter of a mile from the Jefferson County line. The Dickeys of S.C. settled in an area referred to as "Roupes Valley". No time period given, but I am guessing it was around 1830ish. Can you give me more information on your grandfather, John and his wife/family. Maybe this will help some.
Barb
