Ann E. Dickerson married John R. Capps in October of 1840. Ann's father, Hezekiah signed for her as she was under age. The 1850 census does not show a Hezekiah in Hardin county so I looked in Breckenridge. There I found a different Hezekiah born in Virginia in 1833 along with his parents Ezekiel Dickerson b1792 and Frances b1798, both from Virginia. Another son, Benson, b1835 Va was also still at home. In the next residence was a Wingfield Dickerson b1815 Va along with his wife America b1815 Ky with daughter Rachael b1837 Ky and Betsy Hawkins b1840 Ky (niece?).
The problem here is that I have seen this younger Hezekiah, Benson, and Winfield shown to be children of Hezekiah Sr. b c1779. The dates are wrong, but could Ezekiel be Hezekiah Sr.? All records I have seen show the elder Hezekiah married to Frances McGeorge. This Ezekiel is married to a Frances, and as mentioned above, the children's names are the same - in fact they appear to be the exact children I have seen attributed to Hezekiah, even the birth dates are the same.
I have seen the will of Robert Dickerson, the elder Hezekiah's father, and do not recall the mention of an Ezekiel. I hope that somebody has information to clear this picture a little.
