Chelsey A. Dickerson was the younger brother of Samuel Dickerson.The lives of both men are recorded in the "History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon Co., IL" (1876) by John Carroll Power.

Dickerson was the younger brother of Samuel Dickerson.The lives of both men are recorded in the "History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon Co., IL" (1876) by John Carroll Power.Samuel Dickerson was born about 1793 in Virginia.According to the history, his parents moved him to Pendleton Co., KY where his father (un-named) engaged in the salt making business at Grant's Lick.Samuel married Susan Kain who was born about 1800.In 1830 the family moved to Logan Co., Illinois and in the following year they moved to Sangamon Co., IL along with Samuel's brother Chesley.
