Our DICKERSON line is as follows:
Nelson W. DICKERSON b 26 Apr 1815, Barrington, Yates Co. NY, md Charlotte ELLIS 1 Feb 1839 in Huron Co., Ohio.Both were b in NY but apparently their families migrated to Ohio, together.Their 6 children were b in Medina Co., Ohio.Their 2 youngest, John & Leah DICKERSON d in Indiana.The family is then found in 1857 Mn. Territorial census.Nelson W. DICKERSON was a Capt. in the Civil War (2nd Mn, Co. H).He served as a State Legislator in 1874-75 for Minnesota.Their son, Elial H. DICKERSON, b Nov 26, 1839 md Martha BURGESS in Blue Earth Co., Mn.He died in the Civil War in 1862 as a result from injuries sustained at the Battle of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.We do not know Nelson W. DICKERSON's parents' or siblings' names.It is stated that Nelson W. DICKERSON's parents were b in New Jersey.Anyone researching this DICKERSON line?
