My DICKERSON line is from Essex and Hanover Co, VA. Looking at the DICKASON DNA site, my ancestry is certainly the same as Group E (although I personally do not have DICKERSON Y-DNA). Group E is also the only one with folks from Elbert Co, GA, so that is probably your Group also.
I am hoping some descendants of this line take the new Family Finder DNA test (which I have already taken). So far I have 40 new cousins (3rd to 10th) - we've both found a common ancestor on each of our paper trails. These matching DNA segments go through over 200 of my ancestors, with 70 different surnames, spread out over my whole family tree. But so far, I don't have any match with someone of my DICKERSON line.
That's why I'd like to see some of the 17 folks in DICKERSON Group E take the Family Finder test (in addition to the Y-DNA test they have already taken)
Actually anyone who descends from anyone in Group E could take the Family Finder test, because they should have some of the DNA from their DICKERSON ancestor (not Y-DNA), and this may match the DNA I got from this DICKERSON line. (NOTE: the Family Finder test does not tell you which DNA segments are from which ancestor, it tells you who you match - and their email - it's then up to each of us who have taken the Family Finder test to contact each other and share trees to see which one of our ancestors gave us the matching DNA that we share)
If anyone descends from Group E, and you've take the Family Finder (or 23&Me) DNA test - please post or contact me.
