As I said before - I don't have anything on John Dickerson except his relationship to three daughters and:
1. According to Woods' History of Albemarle County, he died in 1788
2. He appears in the first census of the US - 1785 -
Dickerson, John - 9 white souls, 2 dwellings, 9 other buildings.
3. According to the Gillum Genealogy that I got in Pike County, MO: On Elizabeth Dickerson, "It is known that she had two sisters who married in the same area. Unity who married Nathan Smith and Kezia who married George Smith. Both of these families lived in Louisa County. Family tradition indicateds that Elizabeth had many relatives in the State of Virginia, and in the adjoining counties. Several men: John, William, Charles and Griffith Dickerson were among those whose names are linked with the Gillum family in various ways, but no proof of connection by blood has been found.
The Roberts, Fagg, and Gillum families migrated from Albemarle Co Virginia to Pike County, MO in 1835 together.
Hope this helps -
