Good Day! What a pleasant surprise to find your contact. I'm George Willis Dickerson's great-great granddaughter. GWD and his wife settled in northwestern Missouri where he owned a general store. They had three children, two girls and a son. Their eldest, Edna, my grandmother, passed away in 1992. Uncle John was killed in a traffic accident in the early 1960s and Aunt Mildred passed away in the 1970s.

My mother, Edna'a eldest daughter, is in her 80s, and fortunately for me, lives close. Mother was the only one of her generation to complete her bachelor degree, although two of her siblings did attend college for a few years. Mother was a hairdresser who returned to college and became an elementary teacher while I was in junior high and high school. Mother's older brother was a farmer around Grant City, MO. Her two younger sisters were homemakers most of their lives. Mother's youngest brother has been truly a jack-of-all-trades. He speaks five languages, holds licenses for being a freighter pilot to commerical airplane pilot, to certified airplace mechanic to hairdressing instructor and heating/air conditioning repair. Most currently he has been working as a hair stylist again. He gets bored and learns something new every so oftern.

When I was young, my family moved to Farmington, NM, where they lived for almost 50 years. That is where I grew up. Although I have lived several other places, I have always returned to New Mexico.

Two of mother's siblings live close to each other in northwestern MO and northeastern KS. Mother's youngest brother also lives here in Albuquerque.

I have been annoying pre-teens in the classroom for many years as a middle school teacher. Most recently trying to interest eighth graders in American History. I hold several degrees. I returned to college in the late 1980s to earn a graduate degree, then became a teacher.
I have one sister who lives in Syracuse, NY, where her husband is a dept. chair at Syracuse U. She has three grown daughters who live in the West.

I probably have given you far more information than you care about. But I certainly have enjoyed finding out about the people who make up our large family. - Susan H-F
