Good morning, Susan. My name is F. Paul Dickerson III. I am the great grandson of Benjamin R. Dickerson, the younger brother of George Willis Dickerson. Our great, great grandfather, William, died in Curtis, Nebraska. Benjamin married Sarah Beers in the 1890's and moved to Pomona, CA. They purchased a home (of which I have quite a few pictures)and had my grandfather - F. Paul Dickerson - who was born in 1900. He was their only child. Benjamin became a manager at the Citrus Belt department store (now torn down). He died in 1940. My great grandmother, Sarah, died in 1945. They are both buried in Pomona and I have visited their ajoining crypts. My grandfather, Paul, married my grandmother, Diane Soyster, in the 1920's. They met in Pomona and went to high school together. My grandmother graduated from UCLA. My grandfather did not complete college. They had three children, my aunt Diane (the oldest), my father (Paul), and the youngest Steve. My grandfather was a detective with the LA sheriff's department and went on to become a colonel in the US Air Force. He flew bombers in World War II and was stationed in Alaksa during the war. Going out on missions to hunt Japanese bombers. He died in Wisconsin in 1988. We were very close. My father graduated from UCLA and went on to become president of Columbia Grain in Portland Oregon. He was a member of the first Bush administration as General Sales Manager of agricultural exports for the Department of Agriculture (a deputy undersecretary equivalent). He now retired and lives in Wisconsin with my stepmother (they've been married for over 25 years). My Aunt Diane lives nearby. My uncle died 10 years ago of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). He was a physician. They had two children. My cousin Greg is a professor at UC Davis. He received his PhD. from Caltech. My cousin Gail is a minister in New Hampshire. I live in California along with my brother (in San Diego) and mother. I am a Superior Court Judge and he is a financial advisor. I hope this message finds you in good health. Take care, and hope you found this information interesting on a long lost branch of your (and mine) family. Let me know if you have heard from other relatives. Bye for now.
