I am looking for information on the Dickerson family that resided in Lawrence Township, Marion County, Indiana at the time of the 1850 Census.
The head of household is listed as Nancy, age 54, born in KY. Seven children are listed, all of whom were born in Indiana: Merit, 26; Ruth, 24; Oscar, 19; Eveline, 16; Ann, 14; James, 12; Catharine, 10.
Nancy may have been the stepmother of the above children. The record indicates she married within the previous year; and as no spouse appears on this entry, she may have already been widowed.
On a later census Ruth (my direct ancestor who married Milton Dutton in Shelby Co., Ill.) indicated both of her parents were born in Kentucky.
Information about any of the above people is greatly appreciated.
