Hello Debra,
I don't know if this will be of may help to you, but on the 1850 Census There are two Dickerson's listed. One Joseph F. Dickerson (my gggr grandfather) and the other George M. Dickerson who I suspect to be Joseph's brother but can not confirm. I have not been able to find a Death date or place for Joseph and his wife Levicia. Last found on 1870 Census in Johnson County, AR. living with one of their son's and family(Robert Marion Dickerson)
After 1850, I lost George M. and have not been able to find him. His son Joseph enlisted in the Arkansas Calvary with 5 of Joseph's sons. He deserted after the first month and was shot and killed being apprehended. The names of George M.'s family is on the 1850 Carroll County Census and might be of help for you. When I went to Carroll County, the only reference I could find refering that the Dickerson's had even existed there was the Tax lists for Carroll County. Good Luck in your search.
