I have six original studio photographs of Dickerson ancestors, which I would like to get back to family members. One is a carte de visite photo which was taken in Decatur (Macon Co.) IL in around 1880 (based on the type of photo), and shows “Uncle Sam Dickerson”, about age 30. Second and third photos are of Fred Dickerson, one showing him about age 25, and one age 35. I found Fred R. Dickerson (born about 1883, Illinois) in the Woodside (Sangamon Co.) IL census for 1930. His wife is Ethel S. Dickerson, born about 1894. Their son is Russell S. Dickerson, born about 1922. Fourth is of “Ethel and Russel Dickerson – Fred’s wife”. This is obviously the wife and son of the preceding man, Fred R. Dickerson. In the photo, Russell looks about age 8-9 months old, and Ethel is about 27-29. Fifth photo is of Homer Dickerson, taken about 1910, and he looks to be about age 25. Last photo is of “Etsie (Turner) Dickerson – Homer’s wife”, taken about 1910, and she looks about age 20. Note the spelling is ETSIE, not Elsie. I found an Etsie Dickerson, a widow in 1910 census for Clinton (DeWitt Co.) IL, but I have no way of knowing if this is the same lady. These photos were all in one grouping, so they surely are all related. Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to the Dickersons of Macon Co. or Sangamon Co. area.
