DICKERSON Y-DNA Marker test
I just completed a Y-DNA test with familytreedna and wonder
if any other Dickerson have had this test. I had hit a brick wall and decided to try the DNA method of extending
the family line back a few more years, I found out that I
had a 25 marker match with the Lawson family Bloodline,
Now I have to find out how this Lawson match came to be.
Of all the typical explanation I thought of (adoption etc)
I have learned that in some societies the male took the
name of the women's family where they didnot have any males
to carry on the Line. The Y-DNA also shows a danish-viking
connection to the York and Dunham England area near Norton-
on-Tees vicinity so I can check in that area for some more
Dickerson family.
