Susan was the wife of Vachel Dickerson, Jr. The family moved to California. Vachel's parents were Vachel Sr. and Matilda Beatty. Vachel had one sister plus a half brother and a half sister. After Vachel Sr. died in 1848 his older brother Thomas married the widow. That union split and Tom moved to Erath Co., Texas. Matilda married a David Curnutt from Arkansas. She is buried in the I.T. in Oklahoma sans all three husbands. Vachel, Sr. was the son of Joseph Dickerson and Sally Dailey and the grandson of Thomas Dickerson and Margaret Davis and Peter Dailey and Mary Ann Wiley.
