James Henry Dickerson from Monroe Co. Ga. is my gggrandfather. I know nothing about his brothers or parents. He was born on 15 Nov. 1822 and died 12 Aug 1862 in Confederate hospital in Richmond Va. He was a member of Co. D 45th Ga Regiment in Army of Northern Va. Wounded during 7 days battle and died of wounds. Wife was Clara McCoy m. 11 Jan 1857. His many letters home during the war are on display at the military museum at West Point. Clara died 19 August 1905. They had one son: George Monroe born 14 Nov 1858 in Monroe Co. Ga. James H. was earlier married to Sarah (Sally) Hobbs they were married 15 Oct 1845 and had a daughter Althea. Any help you can give me on James H.'s family would be great.
