Rick:

I am interested in the Clinton County Kentucky Dickersons and one "Rebecca A. Dickerson" in particular. I believe she was the daughter of John Dickerson and his first wife Susan. John, born in 1834, was the son of Jesse R. Dickerson, and was probably born in Ga. Rebecca is my ggrandmother. She married George A. Butler in 1880, and they resided in north Clinton County until the 1920-1930s when they died. Rebecca A. may have used Alzana as a common name. George Butler's grandfather was Edmund Butler, who was also a cabinet maker and was Jesse Dickerson's neighbor in 1870.

I also believe that the village of Cartwright, which came into existence about 1870, may have been named for Edmund Butler's and Jesse Dickerson's occupation there. They both alternately listed their vocations as cabinet maker then wagon maker

Please let me know what other information you have about this family and Rebecca specifically. Thanks!
