This John Dickenson (or Dickerson)is probably too old to be related to the gentleman that you referred to. He is my gggggrandfather. He was dead by 1816 after being married twice and having 11 children. The 11 children are: Elizabeth Robinson, Fanny Austin who was deceased at the time of her father's death, Molly Austin, Edy Austin, James Dickenson, William Dickenson, and John Dickenson. These seven were by his first wife (unknown to me). He married Judith Douglass around 1792 and had 4 children. He was in his late 50's and she was about 19. His older children were probably somewhat older than his new bride!!! The last four children were Douglass, Charles, Anna, and Barrett.

As you can see, there was a James and a William listed but no Kinchion. I do not have any information on their descendants as I am a descendant of Douglass Dickerson by John's second wife--Judith Douglass.

I don't know the general localities that you are looking for. Based on the land descriptions in his will, this John Dickenson owned land in what is now Charlottesville, VA and Albemarle County, VA.
