William Dickerson was my gggandfather and is buried in our family cemetery located in Bedford County, TN. Our records show that he arrived in TN from Lousia Co. Virginia in 1804. He did indeed practice law. Born April 25, 1776. Married Easther Coots (b. Dec 3, 1778 in Guilford Co NC.) on March 3 1807. William aquired 620 acres in Bedford Co (then Davidson Co) in 1810. He practiced law with John Overton and William Whiteside. He died June 20, 1821.
We have not been able to trace William's line before his arrival from Va because his father's name was uncertain. Early records were destroyed in a house fire in 1870. His birthdate and origin are engraved on his tombstone in the Dickerson Cemetery.
I was born on the farm that William aquired in 1810 and am the current owner. Any information on William's ancestors would be welcomed.
