I am searching for information on my great grandmother, Ida Belle Dickerson, b. September 11, 1864 in Adams Co, OH.
However, I believe her family may have been in the Wheeling, W/VA area prior to her birth.
Ida Belle is the daughter of Richard Dickerson and Rachel Bruner.
The only other clue I have concerning Ida Belle's lineage is what I find in an obituary notice concerning her sister in Shelby Co, IL.
This notice reads, "Tolson, Sarah J. Dickerson, b. 18 Sept 1846 Wheeling, VA. When a young girl, she moved with parents to Iowa, Ohio, then to IL. m. Edward Tolson (d. Apr 1917), they had been married nearly 50 years; d. July 18 Moweaqua, IL. Lvs ch: Burt, Richard, Floyd, Mrs Isaac Greenburg, Mrs Edward Turney, step dau, Mrs Sue McCleary, Mrs Ida Scroggins is sis.
Ida Scrogin (actual spelling) is Ida Belle Dickerson, my g-grandmother who married John Allen Scrogin 16 Feb 1886 in Pike Co, IL. She was living in Beverly, IL at the time of their marriage.
If anyone has any information that might help me, I would greatly appreciate your sharing it with me.
