Sorry it took me so long to reply. My John Dickerson was born in 1705 in NC. He married a Cherry last name unknown. They came to TN sometime after 1836. They appear on the 1850 Carroll Co TN Census. There children were: Isaac, b 1841 in Carroll Co TN; Thomas b 1828 in NC; Demsey b 1827 in NC; Nancy b 1834 in NC; and mary b 1836 in NC.
Isaac is my direct ancestor - this line evenually married into the Wilson line and my gg grandfather was named Ransom Wilson. Thought the Ransom part might hold a clue to your Ransom Dickerson.
