I am looking for information on a Dickerson family which reportedly moved from somewhere on Long Island to the vicinity of Lake Saratoga NY (Stillwater in old Albany county) sometime in the late 1700's.I would be deeply grateful if you could tell me whether they are mentioned in the book of Philemon Dickerson's descendants.
There was a James Dickerson, father to Sarah/Sally (b. 25 Aug 1768? d. 25 Jun 1857 at Warren Twp PA) Sarah/Sally Dickerson m. Jacob Rogers at Stillwater 25 Mar 1784.Their children were Zebulon, William, Eliz., James, Alex., Dickerson, Philip, Nancy, Hannah, Jacob, Abrazina, Phebe, Sarah 7 Hezekiah.
Sarah/Sally Dickerson's siblings were Polly, Joseph, Betsy, James and John.
Polly m. Zebulon Smith of Long Island and one of their daughters possibly married a Quackenbush.
Betsy m. Moses McCarty of Stillwater.
James m. Polly Arnold (dau. John? Arnold of Stillwater, sister of Thomas Arnold) and their children were Joseph, Anna, Fanny and John.Fanny m. Roger Badgerly and remained in Saratoga or Stillwater.Anna m. her William Rogers (son of Jacob Rogers and Sally Dickerson, i.e., they were first cousins).
John m. Sally Swartout/Swartwout (dau. Corbus Swartout) and moved to Delaware. Their children were Gilbert (known as Old Corbus), Betsy, Ephraim, James, John, George & Hiram?.
