RE:DAVID DICKENSHEETS/DEFIANCE OH
Tina & Carlene....
My great-great grandfather's Civil War letter, in which he mentions "Dave Dickensheets" is dated April 6, 1864. (136 yrs ago today!) He said about the baby.."it was born sometime last January, but such will be the case sometimes"...so that would mean January 1864, right? Let's see, then that would mean she conceived about April 1863? I wonder what my gg-grf means when he says "Father feels very bad about it"...meaning William Thacker. And the fact that she "cut such a caper as that".. Why would he feel bad about it, unless he's some relation to her?? Mysteries!!
