Carlene & Tina,
The Thacker connection is interesting. My great-great grf Charles Lackey who wrote about Dave Dickensheets in one of his Civil War letters, had a stepfather, William Thacker. Charles' mother Mary Lackey was widowed when Charles was 7, and she married Mr. Thacker who had 4 children by a first wife: J.B.,Townsend,female Thacker, and William B. Thacker. Then he married my ggg-grandmother and had 5 more children: Henry, Quincy,Anna,Mary Etta, and Callie.
I can find no Margaret Thacker tho, nor an Angeline Thacker. You said Margaret "Harriet" Thacker was "Dave" Dickensheets' wife...maybe that's why my Charles said in his letter that "Father feels very bad about it..I don't think she need go out to Michigan for him to help her now after she has cut such a caper as that"...I think the "Father" he refers to is actually his stepdad,William Thacker, so Dave's wife Margaret, must be related to William somehow? I'm in touch with Quincy Thacker's grandson..perhaps he'll know something! Do you have names of David Dickensheets children?
