Looking for links to Joseph DICKEN, b. approx. 1815 in TN. Lived in Pope County, IL in 1830's, married Elizabeth DICKEN--a Cherokee woman who came through Pope County in 1839 on the "Trail of Tears". Joseph and Elizabeth's son, Hardy C., is my ggrandfather, who was a Civil War prisoner of war and eventually settled in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, MO. He fathered about 24 children from 3 of his 4 wives.
Any information would be most appreciated. I've never been able to get further than Joseph.
