My grandfather, Guy Harold Dicken, was born in 1879. His mother was Sarah Elder Dicken (born 1840), who was married to Joshua H. Dicken(1838-1874). As you can see, he died before my grandfather was born, so he could not have been his true father. However, Guy was raised by Sarah Elder Dicken and never said that she wasn't his mother. There was also another young girl living in the household named Lucinda. I'm trying to determine if she maybe was my grandfather's real mother. He never said much about her except that she was a girl his mother took in.
They lived in Wood County and Seneca County. Thanks for any clues you can give me.
