A greeting from a Dicken in the United Kingdom

I lost track of my father's family (Douglas Robert Dicken born 1919)due to his death in 1955 when I was but two years old. Because of family difficulties my fathers side of the family is unknown to me. I am aware there seem to be many "Dicken" in the US, it is not a common name here. Lots of "Dicken's" few "Dicken".

I know he originated from the London area, may be Harlesdon, I don't know for sure. I can get some more info from my older brother who did try and follow up the family.

This may be all for nothing, but I thought I would throw out a feeler. As I have said I don't have a lot of details about my father but who knows...
