Here some info on the Perdews you might find helpful. Mary Perdew (it was usually spelled Perdue at this time; they changed it after the move to PA) was born in 1747 to William and Rebecca (Lowe) Perdew/Perdue. This William Perdew was b. 3 Dec 1715 in Baltimore County, and was m. 31 Jan 1748. Mary's brothers were William and John (the recurrence of given names in this family can be maddening, so bear with me). William Perdew's (the one b. 1715) parents were Walter and Jeane Perdew. Walter was b. 1680 in Baltimore County and m. 1712, also in B. Co. Walter's father was also named Walter (they are often referred to as Sr. and Jr., though I don't know if that's accurate), and the elder Walter died in Baltimore in 1692. That's as far back as anyone I know has traced the Perdews. Fast-forward back to William Perdew (2nd, son of William, brother of Mary). This William came to Bedford County, probably in 1770s, served in Bedford County Militia, 1st Battalion, 3rd Company, during the Revolution. He married Charity Casteel and d. 3 Jan 1840. They had eleven children. The ones relevant to your research: Sarah, b. about 1784, m. Stephen Dicken, s/o Amos Keziah, m. Charles Dicken, s/o Jonathan, d. in Seneca County, OH Laban, m. Mary Dicken, d/o Amos, d. 1834 James, m. Keziah Dicken, d/o Thomas Elijah, b. 1788, m. Rachel Blair, d. 1838, father of Archibald Casteel Perdew (1812-1868), who m. Priscilla Dicken, d/o Jesse I'm not sure who the William Perdew is who is included in your research file. There are many, many Williams in the family. William and Charity had a William, but he married Rachel Broaduct. Elijah also had a William, and he could very well be the one who married Malinda Dicken. Hope this is helpful.
