Hi, all,
My grandmother was Edith Caroline Dicken, daughter of Jonothan H. Dicken, b. 25 March, 1818 in Beans Cove, Bedford Co., PA of Jonothan Randolph and Mary Jane Dicken. I have a personal hymnal where Martha Caroline Dewey, wife of Jonothan H. Dicken signed her name Mrs. J. H. His obituary also listed him as Jonothan H. Family lore has always said his middle name was Hendricks (but could have been spelled Hendrix) However another researcher has the "H." standing for Harold.

Judy Johnson contributed this in an e-mail from her in March 2000. Her e-mail address was then She wrote that she had been researching the Hendrix families of York Co., PA and Baltimore Co., MD. for a long time. In the family Bible for Adam Miller Hendrix (1729-1787) was listed a daughter, Dorcus Dicken. Also Amos and Dorcus Dicken had daughters named Ruth and Tamar which are prevalent in succeeding generations of Hendrixs. Just adding what information I have to the search.
