When I use the words "Original Griffith Dickason" (Dickenson, Dickinson, Dickerson) I mean the first known person by that name. From about the first one born about 1625 who married Elizabeth Springall in London, England, on 6/12/1249. They had four issues (?): Thomas, John, William and a daughter who married William Towne. I have listed at least forty Griffith Dickensons from the first one. About 20 can be directly tied to the first and the other cannot be directly connected to the first group of families even though I feel they are. I know of no book that consolidates this data on the name just research from many different sources. And those sources are often circumstancially tied together by location and time frame. There are others that have done extensive research on this name along with other names such as Don Dickenson. One more thing is that the various spellings of the name I listed above is a fact depending on records scattered around different counties, mostly Virginia.
