Matthew's Grandfather I think you will find was William Dickason b.1714 who married Martha Pilgrim (1715 - 1785). They had three children Susan (b 1739) William (b 1741) and George. The elder son William married Elizabeth Murrell(1742 - 1801). They had 10 children. One of their sons, James (baptised 1781) married Mary Iveson. Another one of their sons was Robert and this brings in the South African connection. James and Mary had three children - George, William and James. George married Susan King. They in turn had six children - William, Henry, Harry, Charles, Thomas and Walter. William is my Great Great Grandfather. Thomas I beleive is Norma's Great Grandfather.
I have gathered a lot of information from the records at All Saints Church Necton, where Dickasons for generations were Carpenters and employed to kill sparrows. I have detailed extracts from the Church records on Baptisms, Marriages, Deaths and also details on payments made to Dickasons for services rendered in maintaining the facilities. This info I can supply to those interested in Adobe PDF format.
I can track the family back to George Dickason and Elizabeth Hogan (d. 1695). I am very sketchy on the family members after leaving Necton. Any information anyone can provide to enable me to fit the puzzle together would be greatly appreciated.
