Carl Franklin Dick was my father. He passed away in 1941. He was a piano tuner technician by trade but ran a grocery store in milwaukee on 5th ST and Burleigh from 1930to 1940 .As I remember, he was from muncie Indiana and I can remember going there as a young lad. I met my grandmother there and only saw her that one time.I believe my grandfather must have passed away before. There were some other people there and I can remember people talking about Fred Jr. Hazel and Eros. My mother used to write toa Mille Dick in Flint Michigan. I tried to track this down but found nothing. There is another name that comes up as we have a tin type picture and a civil war discharge paper of a Caleb Wilcoxin . This paper lists his occupation when he was drafted as a farmer. He was listed as coming from Bourben County Kentucky.Somewhere along the line I think he is part of our family. Maybe my grandmother was a Wilcoxin before she was married. Back to Carl F Dick he worked for bradford piano company in Milwaukee before the grocery business. After the grocery business he worked for Huston piano co in milwaukee.I was named after my uncle who was killed while working ona railroad. They called him Bud.Carl Dick drove a 1928 model A tudor FORD.It was Black.
