I am searching for some background on my family and came across an item that was hand written and placed in one fo t hose genealogical files that families can contribute to and leave in the files for other researchers . I have been unable to have any success with My Poe family and I am looking to see if anyone has any information . It seems that John Poe and Jesse Poe attended a sale of Dicks store in as I recall 1829 and purchased several items Hankies and Shot and buttons (odd I know ) wonder if anyone has any information if these Poes were tied to the Dick family or had any connection? a David Smith sold this Poes father land in Chatham co (just across the border) and I see at least one web site connects the Smith family and the Dick family . any help is appreciated .
