I think there is a lot of mixed information on the different Peter Dicks out there. There was one in Philadelphia, Pa and one in Frederick, Md. These two particularly seem to be confused. Here is some information about thePETER DICK whose son was Henry Dick b about 1754 in Md. It is certainly possible that he was in Pa before going to Md but I don't have those sources. Peter Dick found in: US - Census Index (1790) Township: Not Stated County: Frederick State: Maryland Year: 1790 Roll: M637_3 Page: -0465 Image: 0482 Peter Dick found in: Colonial America, 1607-1789 Census Index State: MD County: Washington Co. Census/Enumeration year: 1778 Census type code: Fidelity Oath PETER DICK MD Washington County No Township Listed for 1778 PETER DICK MD Washington County No Township Listed for 1778 PETER DICK MD Frederick County Frederick Town 1796 Here is Henry who lived in Washington Co, Md. Documentation for Henry Dick 1 : The History of Western Maryland page 1262 notes that a Henry Dick had a weaver's shop where the parsonage now stands as early as 1800 and probably before. Christian Dagenhart, Peter Baker (born 1762) and Peter Heck were in the same business. There was a Henry Dick in Maryland as early as 1730s. I would like to get these people straightened out. I don't think the Peter in Md was the husband of Mary Linton. But I don't have a wife for him either.(Was Henry even the son of Peter Dick?) Any help here would be much appreciated. He couldn't have been in Pa, Md and Va all at the same time!! Notify Administrator about this message?
