I don't know about Scotch settlements in Pennsylvania, but the Germans settled heavily there. The term "Pennsylvania Dutch" doesn't refer to the Dutch, but to the Germans or "Deutsch." A lot of Germans also moved on to Ohio. I have a Phebe DICK also. I ran across your Phoebe Sevilla DICK on both FamilySearch.com (her birth & death dates, parents) and Ancestry.com (birth date, marriage to Olin, children). If you don't have this info and/or can't access one or the other of these sites, I'll e-mail it to you. Since posting my original message, I have more specific information about both Peter and Catherine: Peter DICK b. 1 Nov 1824, Horschbach, Pfalz, Rheinbayern, Germany d. 6 Aug 1890, Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio, USA (also tentative info on his parents) Catherine FORSTER b. 26 Sep 1828, Albisheim, Pfalz, Rheinbayern, Germany d. 20 Jan 1895, Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio, USA Notify Administrator about this message?
