Yes, I agree with you that Elijah Dick born 1802 in SC was the uncle to Elijah Gill Dick.
Re the St. Clair County, AL marriage record. That was probably Elijah's first wife. Women died early back then and the menfolk had more than one wife. Rebecca Dick, the widow of Charles Dick, was there in St. Clair County when she filed her Revolutionary War Pension affadavit as the wife of Charles. This was around 1840. The pension file names her sons, Hardin, Elijah, Samuel, and her daughter, Charlotte Dick Nance the wife of Richard Nance. The oldest son, William, was killed in the War of 1812.
I do not know who the Elijah Dick was in Rusk County, TX in 1850. There was a mention of him in the files I have. It said he married there too.
However, the Claiborne Parish, LA marriage records of both these Elijah Dick's convinced me that they were kin. The time and place was right for this. Elijah is not a common name nor is Dick.
