There have been many questions as to whether the Elijah Dick who married Tabitha Cook and the Elijah Dick who married Nancy P. Watson are the same man. These two men married in Claiborne Parish, LA about a year apart. Elijah Gill Dick married Nancy P. Watson in August of 1854 and Elijah Dick married Tabitha Cook in March of 1853.
Upon looking at the AR 1860 census record, it is evident that these are two different men. Elijah Gill Dick was born in 1824 and would have been 36 in 1860.
The question that remains is just who is the Elijah Dick that married Tabitha Cook. His age puts him in the right bracket to have been the Uncle Elijah Dick of Elijah Gill Dick.
Any information on the parents of Elijah Dick who married Tabitha Cook would be appreciated.
