Thomas Dick Line OHIO
Hello. I am trying to help a friend of mine who has no computer trace his genealogy. His father is Steven Lynn Dickof Highland OhioHis father I have been told is Kenneth Dick. I have a Kenneth Dick listed through Ancestry.com as being born in Highland County in 1908. It lists his mothers' surname as Butters.I live within a few miles of the Ohio Archives so I went to them. I found Ella Butters listed as a widow,50 years old, head of household in the 1910 census. She had her son in law and daughter living with her.She also had 2 grandchildren living with her. One of them being Earl Dick. Tom told me Earl was Kenneth's fatherbut that doesnt work. Earl was born in December of 1908and Kenneth in March of 1908. Earl is Earl D. so it is not the same person.Does anyone have this line in their tree that can help me.I also read the Book(well its more of a phamplet)called Thomas Dick His Pioneer Days with his loving wife Elizabeth May. I took about 5 pages of notes.I would be more than happy to send a copy of what I transcribe to anyone who is interested.I did learn that Thomas Dick had a brother named Campbell and his father's name is Quinton. It has a lot of specific dates in Thomas' life and was told by Thomas Dick. It does not mention anything about the underground railroad though.Hope this helps, and I really hope someone knows what I am rambling aboutThanks Jane
