I've been helping my son with a class project on pedigrees and found the Leamings on my husband's side. (David Leaming, Lydia's half brother, is my husband's gggrandfather.) Compared to the info available on my Irish immigrant families, the Leaming information available in Hamilton County is a virtual treasure trove! I've read all the Leaming messages on the message board with great interest, looking for a way to contribute. Perhaps now I can add some bits:
According to a Shaul family history that I found at the Noblesville Southeastern Public Library, Noblesville IN, Lydia Leaming was really named Lucinda after her mother, Lucinda Shaul Leaming. Abraham Dick was Lydia's first husband, m. 11 Nov 1851. They had 2 children: Henry L "Harry" Dick (1852-1915) and Caroline "Callie"(Dick) Turner (1854-1917).
I don't see a death date for Abraham- just an indication that he died sometime before 1860.
Lydia supported both children and her mother in law until her second marriage to Barnhart W Gintert about 1864. (Hamilton County Marriage Book 1860-1869 - exact date not shown). They had 3 children: Ida C (Gintert) Davis(1865- ), Elizabeth B "Libbie" (Gintert) Carey (1870- ), Edward M. Gintert (1879-1961).
There's a bio excerpt on Barnhart from a Hamilton County history that was written sometime after Ida's death (at least 1913). At that time Lydia, Barnhart and their other two children are still living in Hamilton Co.
Have more marriage info and descendant info for the children listed above if you're interested.
