I'm afraid I'm as much in the dark as you are. This is all that I've got:
My g-grandfather's name was Holly DICK (I have no birth or death dates, nor do I know where he was buried). He married Corinna SOLOMON, b. 1-27-1896; d. August, 1977 in Rockingham. She is buried in Moore County.(she married again to a man with the last name of RORIE).
They had 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Lawrence Alexander DICK, b. 10-17, 1915 -- d. 6-27, 2000 (born in Montgomery County), m. Ethel Lenora Proveaux March 3, 1938. (This was my grandfather).
Your Bill DICK could possibly be our Uncle Cecil but I'm not sure.I have the names of ALL the children (including the child born to Corinna and ?? Rorie) and if you'll email me, I'll be happy to give those names as I don't want to post them without their permission.
I'm afraid I don't have anything else besides this other than my immediate family (brothers & sisters of my father's and their extended families).
My father, William Holly DICK told me what he could and I'm afraid that wasn't much as he's had several strokes and can't remember much.My grandfather (Lawrence) had Alzheimer's for quite some time before he passed away so I couldn't get much info from him either. It seems that I remember hearing my father speak of an "Uncle Jimmy" once but I'm not positive.I'll get in touch with him and try to pick his brain a little more and get back to you.
I've been MUCH more successful at getting info on my grandmother's PROVEAUX side than granddaddy's DICK side. However, I've recently applied for a copy of granddaddy's Social Security application and hope to have a little more info then.
If any of this sounds familiar to you, please contact me as I've been trying to research my DICK side for years with no success.
BTW: Are you the one who posted the message about "Holly Green DICK"??
