THE WILL OF JOEL DIBBLE TOWN OF PAWLING NY IN THE YEAR OF 1812 In the name of God Amen.I Joel Dibble of the town of Pawlings Dutchess County and State of New York considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same do make publish this my last will and Testament in mannner following that is to say I wish my funeral charges and all honest debs to be paid and of my movable property is not sufficient to pay said debts my will is that my Executors should sell such part of my freehold property as they shell think proper to discharge the same.I to my beloved daughter Rhuanah a certain Red and white cow one feather bed six chairs and a table durning her life and then to her heirs forever.I give unto my beloved wife Rachel the one third of all my property after paying my debts during her life my will is that my Grand son Hiram Knapp should be brought up out of my estate until he is able to get his living or go to a trade and futher if my son Joel will live with the family and help bring them up until he is of age my will is that my Executors should pay him twenty five dollars and twenty five dollards more then either of the rest of my children when the youngest comes of age if not I wish him only to be made equal at which time I wish my property to be equally devided between all my children Except Ebenezer Elizabeth Esther and Rhuanah who I have already gave as much as Iexpect and if David and Lucy will come and help bring up the family my will is that they should be made equal with the rest of my children all other property of whatever name or narture soever I give to my beloved wife Rachel Dibble whom I appoint one of my Executores and Elijah Deun and Stephen Hayt the other in witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal in presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names in presence of the tesator this thirty day of March in the year of our Lord 1812. Benjamin John Watts Squire Robinson --Dutches County Be it Remembered that on the twenty third day of Ffeberty one thousand one hundred and thirteen personally appeared before me George Bloom Surrogate of the said County John Watts who on oath declared that he did see Joel Dibble sign and seal the annexed written instrument purporting to be the will of said Joel Dibble bearing date the Thrity first day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirteen and heard him publish and declair the same as and for his Last will and testament that at the time thereof he the said Joel was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him Deponent. and that that deponent David C Benjamin & Squire Robinson severally subscriced the will as witnesses thereto in the testators presence.
