Searches in the Dibble Family Forum for Vigel, Sophie, Satterly, Mamie, Homer, Alonzo, George 1826, or George Danbury do not give anything that matches the family lore given below. I post that lore with the hope that someone in the family can connect somewhere.
George Dibble was born in 1826 in Danbury, Connecticut. His father was Vigel Dibble. He married Sophie Satterly, who was born in 1832 in Kentucky.
They had children George Dibble, Wm. Dibble, Emily Dibble, Katie Dibble, and Mamie Dibble in some order. Mamie was born in 1853 in Covington, Kentucky. She married Homer Alonzo Johnson and died in 1891.
Homer was born in 1848 in Aurora, Illinois, and died in 1906. His parents were Samuel Johnson and Eliza Caroline (Smith?).
The children of Homer and Mamie were Nellie M. Johnson, Mary E. Johnson, Alma M. Johnson, Ethel G. Johnson, Zara S. Johnson, and Guy Dibble Johnson in some order. Nellie may have been born in 1878 or 1879. Guy was born in 1885 in New Orleans and died in 1971. Guy had a son and grandson named after him. My wife is his granddaughter.
