The Memorial Record of Alabama contains a biographical sketch of John (Vol. 1, pp. 748-749). If you need more information on the family, I may be able to help you. My descent is from their daughter Rebecca, who married James Daniel Hutcheson, and whose daughter Harlie Vera married Judge Cleveland Everage. Harlie and Judge C. are my parents.
