Looking for any information relating to the descendants or ancestors of:
Andrew DIAMOND and Thomasina CHURCH both born in Ireland. Thomasina died on 13 Feb 1865---two years after the death of her son Andrew at 73 Main Street---Thomasina DIAMOND widow of Andrew DIAMOND, mason, journeyman, died at 2h30m pm at 73 Main Street, Glasgow. She was 65. Her parents were Stephen CHURCH, farmer, deceased and Bridget Church ms WELSH, deceased. The cause of death was bronchitis with cardiac disease from which she had suffered "for years". The informant was John DIAMOND, son, residing at 51 Muirhead Street. I have not found the death record for her spouse Andrew DIAMOND but believe it was between 1845-1862. Thus far I have only found two sons born to Andrew and Thomasina and am hoping another researcher may have found other descendants or ancestors.
I know that their son John (born about 1840 in Ireland) married Rose Anne MURRAY (b: abt 1841 in Ireland to Peter MURRAY and Mary KEAN / KEENAN / KANE). Roseanne's mother Mary died 6 Jan 1879 in Gorbals. Mary MURRAY died in Gorbals at the age of 76. At the time she was living at 32 Gorvan Street. Her husband Peter MURRAY, a mason journeyman, predeceased her. Mary was the daugher of Bernand KANE, a farmer and Rose-Ann Kane maiden surname MONEY both deceased. The cause of Mary's death was chronic brochonitis and debility as certified by James Mullan, surgeon. The informant was John DIAMOND, Mary's son-in-law.
I purchased the record for the marriage of John DIAMOND and RoseAnne MURRAY. It indicates that the couple were wed "after the bans according to the forms of the Roman Catholic Church." Twenty-four-year-old John Diamond, an iron moulder, journey man, was living at 79 Main Street in Glasgow. His father, Andrew Diamond (deceased) was a mason, journeyman. Twenty-four-year old Rose Ann Murray, was a cotton yarn winder living at 73 Main Street Glasgow. Her father Peter Murray, a labourer, was also deceased. The Minister was John Kerr, R.C.C. of St. John's Chapel, Portugal Street, Gorbals, Glasgow. There were two witnesses -- John Gillian and Mary Cassidy. The marriage was registered on the 9th of September 1862 at Glasgow.
John and RoseAnne's children (all registered in Hutchesontown, Glasgow) included: twins Peter & Andrew DIAMOND b 27 Apr 1863 (Andrew died at age 22); Mary DIAMOND b 27 Nov 1864 (never married); John b 13 Mar 1867 (died at age 21); Peter b 19 Feb 1869 (never married); Thomasina b 22 Sep 1870 (married James DONOGHUE); James b 27 Jun 1870 (married Annabella GROWN) ; Henry Christopher b 25 Jun 1874 (married Elizabeth Anderson STEVENSON).
The 1881 Census Household for the country of Lanark, Scotland indicates Rose Ann's husband was 41 so he must have been born around 1840. According to the 1881 Census, the Diamonds were living at 40/5 Rutherglen Loan in the district of Gorbals. The household consisted of 41-year-old John, the head of the household and a Commercial Traveller provisions born in Ireland; Rose Ann his 40-year old Irish born wife and their children: Andrew, 17 an unemployed clerk; Mary 16 a warehouse girl; John 14 an apprentice in the shoe trade; Peter 12, Thomasina 10, James 8, Henry 6. Ten years later, the widow Rose Ann was still living in Rutherglen Loan.
John DIAMOND died 2 Oct 1909 in Hutchesontown; his wife RoseAnne died 3 Jan 1893. Their son Henry Christopher DIAMOND was my great-grandfather. Any help for this Irish connection would be greatly appreciated.
