Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa October 2, l924 JANE DIAMOND BOYCE, daughter of JOHN and MARY DIAMOND, was born in Devonshire, England, May 6, l845, and died at Emporia, Kansas, September l5, l924, at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 9 days. When nine years of age she came with her parents to Sandusky County, Ohio, where she grew to womanhood. On January l, l863, she was married to WM. BOYCE. To this union were born eleven children, three having died in infancy and JOHN T. in Feb., l924. Those surviving are: GEORGE D., of Colorado Springs, Colorado; MRS. MARY KEHLER, of Emporia, Kansas; MRS. FANNIE TRISLER, of Garden Grove; MRS. CHAS. KELLEY, of Van Wert; JAMES G., of Leslie; MRS IDA COON, of San Marcial, N.M.; and WILLIAM H., of Des Moines. About l896, the family came to Iowa, settling near Humeston. They also resided near Garden Grove and Weldon, later moving near Van Wert, where MR. BOYCE died in July, l900. Since that time, MRS. BOYCE had spent her time with the children. She united with the M.E. Church in Humeston, shortly after coming to Iowa. Besides the children she leaves to mourn their loss, seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted from the Van Wert M.E. Church in the absence of the Pastor, by Rev. LeRoy Munyon, Minister of the Osceola Christian Church, on Friday afternoon, September l7th. Interment was made at the Van Wert Cemetery.
