Am not in any way related to the individuals shown below: Diamond, Belle Reiner TROY -- Belle Reiner Diamond, 103, died on September 9, 2001 in Troy, NY. She was born in a tenement on the lower east side of New York City on December 28, 1897, and lived in New York City until moving to the Capital District in 1990. Among her early memories was the sound of horse drawn wagons on the cobblestone streets of the city; and she lived to see people walk on the moon. Mrs. Diamond recalled proudly that before, and immediately after the First World War, as an office worker for the Willard Brick Company, she prepared shipping documents for loads of brick for buildings to expand the thriving communities along the Hudson as far north as Troy. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Diamond for 55 years. Survivors include her children, Sheldon and Henrietta Diamond of Forest Hills, NY and David and Lois Diamond of Guilderland, NY; her grandchildren, Janet Mauro and her husband, Joseph of Bethel, CT, Barrie Bauer and her husband, Frederick of West Orange, NJ, Marc Diamond and his wife, Cheryl Gottesman of Providence, RI, Philip Diamond and his wife, Rose of Maynard, MA and Howard Diamond and his wife, Anne of Sharon, MA; and 14 adored great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Mount Hebron Cemetery in New York City. The traditional period of mourning will be observed at the homes of Sheldon and Henrietta Diamond in Forest Hills, NY and at the home of David and Lois Diamond at 549 Jefferson Court, Guilderland, NY beginning Wednesday, September 12, 2001. Donations in her memory may be made to Temple Beth El, Troy, NY, in honor of Rabbi Aryeh Wineman for his kindness to the residents of the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center or to Congregation Ohav Shalom, Albany, NY
